YBM is seeking young black men for the 2013 TOP 100 Young Black Men Program. This program recognizes African American male high school seniors for their outstanding achievements in academic, community service, leadership, and volunteer efforts. Students who participate in the program are highlighted in the Top 100 publication, attend a recognition ceremony, connected with college and universities around the country and have the opportunity to compete for YBM Leadership Alliance scholarships. The Top 100 are also invited to YBM’s Senior Academy which focuses on college selection, application submission, and obtaining college scholarships.
Applicants in the greater Charlotte region must be high school juniors who hold a weighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A committee of judges will make selections based on each applicant’s GPA, SAT scores, community service, involvement in organizations/civic groups, and extracurricular activities.
