Be Good Be Blessed Teams With Reel Soul Cinema To Feature Acclaimed Film "SoulMate"

Published on: 11/13/06

Be Good Be Blessed, a faith-based company, collaborates with Reel Soul Cinema to present the nationally acclaimed documentary "SoulMate." This is a film by award-winning television writer and producer in Hollywood , Andrea Wiley. "Soulmate" explores the personal challenges faced by African-American women experiencing prolonged singleness.

The film looks at the national phenomenon, which has rendered 42.3% of all African-American women single according to recent United States Census Bureau figures. This staggering statistic is one of many reflected throughout this deeply personal portrait which reveals the trials and triumphs of unforgettable women while offering hope and practical advice on issues such as loneliness, the desire for sexual intimacy and the ticking biological clock. "SoulMate" also reveals how many of these highly accomplished professional women have found both joy and purpose in their lives. The film has received great praise from three top-rated syndicated radio programs: Tom Joyner Morning Show, Michael Baisden Show, Steve Harvey Morning Show and Essence Magazine.

The special screening will be Sunday, November 19 at the Afro-American Cultural Center in uptown Charlotte . Admission is $8.00 and will begin at 3:00 PM.

"This is an amazing film with a stirring message! Its story is something that crosses more than gender lines but race and faith as well. So we had to help bring this compelling story to Charlotte ."
